How Chinese Medicine Views Numbness and Tingling

In Chinese medicine, numbness, tingling, burning sensations, and altered sensitivity are often viewed as signs that communication and circulation within the body have become disrupted. This may occur following injury, prolonged tension, repetitive strain, aging, or other underlying patterns affecting the body’s ability to regulate itself effectively.

Although two people may experience similar symptoms, the underlying pattern contributing to those symptoms can be very different. Treatment therefore focuses on understanding the individual rather than simply addressing the symptom itself.

The goal is to support the body’s natural ability to regulate, recover, and restore normal function.
